The SAS and LED Committee is responsible for supporting, developing and representing the professional needs and experience of specialty, associate specialist and specialist (SAS) doctors and locally employed (LE) doctors at all stages of their careers and membership experience and meets three times a year typically though not exclusively on a virtual basis. SAS and LE doctors who are UK Fellows/Members/Associates are eligible to apply for this position.

Our membership communities provide a focus for supporting RCOG Fellows, Members and Associates as they progress their careers and as part of the College.
The RCOG Membership Board brings together representatives from the RCOG Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland Executive Committees, the RCOG National Trainee Committee and the Retired Fellows and Members Society Committee to share information and ideas for improving engagement with members across all communities.

Current opportunities
Responsibilities of the Peer to Peer Supporter role include to offer impartial guidance, support and advice to College members seeking peer to peer support, to signpost members to appropriate sources of support and to engage with others to review and manage requests for support received. We welcome applications from RCOG Fellows/Members/Associates, working in a substantive consultant or senior SAS position or retired from one of these roles within the past three years and resident in the UK or Republic of Ireland.
The Retired Fellows and Members Society Committee is responsible for supporting, developing and representing retired members of the College through contribution to the College strategy and meets three times a year in person/remotely. Current retired Fellows and Members in the UK and Republic of Ireland are eligible to apply for this position.
How volunteers contribute to our work
Our volunteers also provide vital expertise and contribute to supporting the O&G profession by:
- Attending AAC panels as assessors for consultant interviews
- Helping to review consultant job plans before they go to advert
- Representing SAS and LE Doctors on our SAS and LED Committee
- Joining working groups to support the production of RCOG Workforce reports
