The RCOG introduced the annual National Trainer of the Year and the Trainee Trainer of the Year Awards to recognise exceptional trainers across the UK who consistently go above and beyond to support and educate our trainees.
This year, two additional categories have been introduced: the LED Trainer of the Year Award and the AHP Trainer of the Year Award. These new awards acknowledge the vital contribution of LED colleagues and allied healthcare professionals to the training and development of our workforce.
Selection
Each Deanery can nominate an AHP Trainer, LED Trainer, Trainer and Trainee Trainer via their RCOG National Trainees’ Committee (NTC) representative. All nominations are anonymised before review and the winners and runners up are selected by the NTC executive team and the RCOG Vice President for Education following a thorough review of all submissions.
When
Nominations open in November each year, with the winners announced the following March.
Presentation of awards
Each winner is invited to an RCOG admission ceremony for the current year, where they receive a certificate by the RCOG Vice President for Education. Travel costs to attend the ceremony are covered by the RCOG.
